The West African Container Terminal—APM Terminals Nigeria has just completed training for another 600 participants from the fourth and fifth groups of its WACTpreneur initiative, highlighting its dedication to long-term community improvement and equitable economic progress within the areas where it operates, according to a release issued on Sunday.
As per the announcement, the commencement event gathered participants of the program; local authorities from the host areas of Onne and Ogu within Rivers State; collaborating organizations; and officials from WACT to mark the conclusion of six months of rigorous business development training and guidance.
The WACTpreneur initiative aims to enhance small enterprises through practical instruction in product display, client interaction, bookkeeping, logistics coordination, credit transactions, funding options, ethical practices in commerce, and managing financial flows, along with various essential aspects of running a business.
Representing the Managing Director at the ceremony, Jeethu Jose, WACT Senior People Business Partner, Chinelo Obienyem praised the graduates for their commitment and resilience.
Obienyem additionally urged the graduates to utilize the skills they have acquired to expand their businesses and support regional economic growth.
"Today, we are honoring not just the graduation of 600 individuals, but also recognizing perseverance, strength, and the enterprising mindset found in our local communities. With the WACTpreneur initiative, attendees have gained real-world abilities to create lasting enterprises that bring beneficial changes to their households and neighborhoods," Obienyem stated.
Obienyem emphasized that WACT–APM Terminals Nigeria believes the knowledge gained from the program will empower graduates to generate employment opportunities, grow their enterprises, and act as examples of entrepreneurial success in their respective communities.

WACT–APM Terminals functions inside the Oil and Gas Free Zone located at Onne Ports in Rivers State.
