BNP Leader Killed in Jashore Attack

Jashore, January 4 – A regional BNP official was fatally wounded by unknown attackers in Jashore city during the afternoon hours of Saturday.

The event took place approximately at 6:45 pm in the Shankarpur neighborhood of the city.

The departed individual has been recognized as Alamgir Hossain, aged 54, son of the late Intaz Chowdhury, and living in Shankarpur. He served as the joint general secretary of BNP Ward No. 7 within Jashore Municipal Corporation.

As per his older sibling, Jahangir Hossain, Alamgir was riding a motorbike back home from the Battala region of the city when attackers shot at him in front of the Huda Memorial Academy.

Locals quickly took him to Jashore General Hospital, where medical staff confirmed his death.

Doctor Bichitra Mallick from the hospital’s emergency room stated that Alamgir arrived in severe condition following a gunshot wound to his head.

An Inspector (Operations) from the Jashore Kotwali Police Station, Muminul Haque, stated that officers arrived at the scene right away upon being informed.

Authorities are examining the reason for the murder and are striving to recognize and apprehend the individuals implicated, he further stated.
