U.S. President Donald Trump stated on Thursday that American military operations carried out fatal assaults on ISIS fighters in northwestern Nigeria, promising further bombardments should the extremists continue targeting Christians.
The leader made this statement on his Truth Social account, noting that the Department of War carried out many successful attacks.
He stated, "Tonight, under my command as President, the United States carried out an effective and lethal attack on ISIS terrorist elements in North-Western Nigeria, which have been attacking and brutally murdering mainly innocent Christians, at rates unprecedented in recent years, perhaps even centuries!"
I had earlier cautioned these militants that should they continue attacking Christians, there would be consequences, and this evening, those repercussions arrived.
The War Department carried out many precise attacks, something only the United States can accomplish.
Under my direction, our nation will ensure that extreme Islamist terror does not thrive.
May God grant blessings upon our armed forces, and a Happy Christmas to everyone, including deceased extremists, who will surely increase in number if they keep killing Christians.
In another update on X (previously known as Twitter), Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth expressed his "appreciation for the assistance and collaboration from the Nigerian government."

The @DeptofWar is consistently prepared, which is why ISIS discovered this evening — on Christmas.
Thankful for the support and collaboration from the Nigerian government. Happy Christmas!

Last month, Trump stated that he would halt U.S. assistance to Nigeria and enter the nation "with guns drawn" if the administration failed to take further action against Islamic militants responsible for attacking Christians.
