Christmas Call: Labour Party Faction Tells Tinubu to Use APC's 'Broom' Against Corruption

A group within the Labour Party, headed by its National Chairman, Julius Abure, has urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to employ the broom—the emblem of the governing All Progressives Congress (APC)—to eradicate corruption from Nigeria.

Abure issued the declaration through a Christmas greeting included in a statement endorsed by the faction's National Publicity Secretary, Obiora Ifoh.

He pointed out that no administration can last or achieve success without firmly addressing and halting corruption.

He stated that Jesus Christ demonstrated uncorrupted leadership, as shown in the scriptures where He revealed a disciple who had become corrupt.

Abure also encouraged Nigerians to take advantage of the Christmas period to offer intense prayers for the nation, especially concerning the current security issues.

He praised the bravery of the Nigerian armed forces, the Department of State Security, and other auxiliary organizations for their work in ensuring stability throughout the holiday season.

A senior figure from the Labour Party urged President Tinubu to guarantee that the armed forces and security services receive proper motivation and backing so they can carry out their duties effectively.

Abure stated that Nigeria will keep facing challenges unless current leaders adopt the values of dedication and generosity demonstrated by the country's original pioneers, such as Malam Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, Sir Ahmadu Bello, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, and Malam Aminu Kano, to mention a few.
