The head of police for Kogi State Command, CP Naziru Kankarofi, honored recently promoted officials within the command by awarding them the position of Chief Superintendent of Police at the headquarters located in Lokoja, the state’s capital.
A release published on Wednesday from the spokesperson of the unit, CSP William Aya, mentioned that the ceremony took place with the involvement of the Police Commissioner and personnel from the Command Management Team, as well as the relatives of the officers being promoted, who attended the occasion.
Speaking to the officers, Kankarofi praised them for their justly earned advancement, calling it an acknowledgment of their commitment, expertise, and efforts throughout their time in previous positions.
He praised their dedication to service and their role in the operational achievements accomplished by the Command.
The head of police cautioned the recently promoted officials that rising in position brings greater duties and standards.
" I call upon you to show more dedication, guidance, self-control, and fresh enthusiasm in carrying out your responsibilities, since elevated positions require enhanced responsibility and devotion to the citizens of Kogi State," he stated.
Kankarofi expressed additional gratitude to the promoted officials for their assistance, collaboration, and efforts they have provided him since he took up his role as Police Commissioner in Kogi State, emphasizing that unity, dedication, and expertise are essential for maintaining safety and public trust throughout the state.
On behalf of the recently appointed officers, CSP Alozie Chukwuemaka expressed gratitude to the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, and the Chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC), DIG Hashimu Argungu (retired), for considering them deserving of their promotions.
He pledged that they would increase their work to meet the additional burden placed upon them.
He valued the approach taken by the Police Commissioner, emphasizing that they will keep striving to ensure Kogi State becomes the most secure in Nigeria.
