Valerie Fubara, the spouse of the governor of Rivers State, celebrated Christmas Day by showing affection and attention to infants who were born on December 25 and by touring a children's facility, as part of the 2025 holiday festivities.
Fubara, the creator of the Valerie Simple Life Initiative, went to the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital (RSUTH) in Port Harcourt on Christmas day. There, she met two newborns who arrived on Christmas Day—Baby Eric Chinyere Blessing, who weighed 2.7 kilograms and was born at 12:02 am, and Baby Chidugam Kinikachi Owhondah, born at 2:00 am.
Throughout her visit, she expressed gratitude to God for His loyalty and mercy, and praised the parents for the healthy birth of their children. She referred to the infants as "unique blessings of the time and emblems of optimism for what lies ahead."
The spouse of the state governor distributed gifts such as personal care products and money to newborns and their mothers, mentioning that honoring infants born on Christmas and New Year's Day has evolved into a treasured custom within Rivers State. Additionally, she urged parents to bring up their children with reverence for God, ensuring they develop into valuable members of both their households and the broader community.
The Head of Medicine at RSUTH, Prof. Chizindu Alikor, received Mrs. Fubara and praised her action. He additionally expressed gratitude to Governor Siminalayi Fubara for authorizing the hiring of 1,000 employees and outfitting critical units to improve medical care.
In the morning, Mrs. Fubara went to the Port Harcourt Children’s Home located in Borikiri, where she gave presents to the kids and assured them about the ongoing attention and assistance from the government. She praised the staff for keeping the place tidy and suitable for living, and voiced her approval regarding the quality of care offered.
